Beautiful problem free surfaces that have no major scratches, nicks or any granularity. A dark and even rich chocolate brown coloration that is original and attractive. Nice detail present with individual hair strands evident. On the reverse, a small rim ding above the U of UNITED and very slight rim bruise above the ED of UNITED that is not disturbing. The coloration and quality of the reverse evenly matches the obverse. A very important coin due to the non-granular condition and the impressive and collectable VF grade (a coin that is actually graded on VF wear rather than the often seen XF detail coin graded Fine or VF due to granularity). While detail on the reverse is a little soft at the chain, this softness is more than compensated for by the quality of the surfaces.
