A solid example for the grade. Technical detail is in the AU55 range. Luster is minimal. Surfaces and devices are lacking any major marks or horrible blemishes. The 1856-O half eagle is a legitimate rarity and rarely exists in this grade or higher. The mintage of half eagles at the New Orleans in 1856 was only 10,000.
